Hola! My name is Marianella Osorio, and I am a UX designer and researcher. I graduated from DePaul University in June 2020 as an Undergraduate student with a Bachelor's Degree in User Experience Design (UX), with a concentration in Design and a minor in Graphic Design. Through a combined degree, I continued my studies and graduated from DePaul University in 2022 with distinction and my master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction.
I am a designer who is passionate about listening to users, identifying problems, and using design to begin solving those problems. I also love working on my photography skills, painting, learning new recipes, and reading.
Designer's Statement
As a designer in a field that is constantly evolving, I want to make sure that I keep learning as much as I can about how I can become a better designer & problem solver.
I used to say that I simply wanted to make a positive change through my design work. That is still true, but I now understand that there are many layers that I must first understand in order to get there. Therefore, I want to edit the way in which I say that previous statement:
I will listen, understand, and work with communities in order to create actionable outcomes that can enhance people’s experiences.
I will continue to understand my role & my power as a Latina designer in relation to the communities that I interact with.
I will not forget to stop & take moments for reflection on the work that I am doing and how I can improve as a designer, as an ever-learning student, and as a human.
